Yoga for Children

Yoga is great for everyone, especially children.  We live in a busy world.  Our children experience the hustle and bustle too.  Their lives are full of going from one place to the next including school, after school activities, completing homework, playing sports and many more.  Children often do not have the luxury of slowing down and getting in touch with calming activities.  Yoga is an excellent activity for children to tap into their natural calming systems.  Children benefit greatly from the focus on breath elongation, stretching, strengthening and balance that yoga has to offer.  Many children feel that it gives them a sense of stability, both physically and emotionally, that they do not experience elsewhere.  Participating in a single yoga class or having a regular practice greatly increase a child's sense of calm, ability to focus and ability to self-soothe. These benefit will impact their daily lives in a way that is unique to yoga.
