ALL CLASSES IN LEVEL 4 & UP REQUIRE AUDITION OR TEACHER APPROVAL

BALLET
These classes work at a higher level of ballet based off past classes. These classes work on higher levels of ballet movements and terminology while exploring and further mastering original choreography from ballet variations. Each class incorporates a formal ballet warm-up, training of proper ballet technique and combinations using ballet movements and technique learned in prior classes.

TAP
Prior experience required. These classes explore and expand on the basics of tap and incorporate challenging rhythms and steps. Building off basic tap technique learned in Level 1 & 2 level classes, this class will continue to teach rhythm, coordination, basic tap terminology and more complex choreography.

LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY
These classes focus on developing the dancer’s individual personality and style of dancing while introducing specialty elements. Combinations are taught quickly and are technically challenging. Focus changes frequently to allow dancers an opportunity to hone their talents and dance more dynamically. Dancers’ improvisation skills are further developed here as well. Students continue to explore the emotional aspect of dance as well as fluid movement. Combinations are generally longer and taught at a faster pace. The goal is for students to portray their emotions in a way that audience members can feel.

JAZZ
These classes explore and expand jazz movements and terminology and elevated levels of turns and leaps. Combination instruction will be taught at a faster pace focusing on style and incorporating more difficult technique. Focus changes frequently to allow dancers an opportunity to hone their talents and dance more dynamically. Dancers’ improvisation skills are further developed here as well. Each class incorporates a formal jazz warm-up, training of proper jazz technique and combinations using jazz movements and technique learned in prior classes.

POINTE
Our advanced ballet classes will introduce and incorporate pre-pointe and pointe work. Dancers readiness for pointe work will be at the teachers discretion.

HIP HOP
These classes focus on different hip hop styles and performance techniques and will be taught at a faster pace for exercise in choreography retention. They also develop the dancer’s individual personality and style of dancing while introducing specialty elements. Combinations are taught quickly and are technically challenging. Focus changes frequently to allow dancers an opportunity to hone their talents and dance more dynamically. Dancers’ improvisation skills are further developed here as well.

LEAPS & TURNS

This class focuses on building strength, endurance, and power for leaps and turns. We focus on skill breakdown and progressions to combine various technical elements. This class is appropriate for advanced dancers. This class focuses on turns and leaps through across the floor combinations.  Students training in the upper level classes are highly encouraged to take leaps & turns in addition.
